In July 2022, Professor David Beerling (seen here with Professor Nick Pidgeon) was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from his alma mater Cardiff ÀÖ¾ºÌåÓý, for his 'outstanding contributions to science'. Other 2022 honorary awardees included Julia Gillard, the first (and only) female Prime Minister of Australia, and Jessica Fishlock, double UEFA Champions League winner. David said 'I'm delighted and incredibly proud to have been recognised by Cardiff ÀÖ¾ºÌåÓý in this way'.
